Amazon has begun prioritizing their shipments to focus on the Coronavirus epidemic. Online shopping has increased dramatically since the Coronavirus outbreak began in the United States. As a result, household and medical supplies are becoming increasing low in stock.
President Trump has reached an agreement with Amazon to ensure critical medical supplies are sent to the health care industry. Amazon's FBA program will be suspending shipments through April 5 to allow them to ship products needed for the Coronavirus. They are currently prioritizing household staples, medical supplies and other high demand products. According to Amazon, they will prioritize products in the following categories: Baby Products, Health and Household, Grocery, Industrial Products, Scientific Products, and Pet Supplies.
Sellers are still able to sell other products on their website but they are responsible for shipments themselves. Amazon also announced that they will be hiring an additional 100,000 workers to address the current demand .
